FAQ

  • Groups create a space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, evangelize, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. A Group Leader determines how often their group meets and what the focus of the group is. Groups gather in homes, coffee shops, and other places where people love to connect—including online.

  • Though there are different types of groups, there are two things you’ll find in each of them. That is relationships and conversations that help people grow in their faith.

Mission Groups: Imagine a Missions Trip, but within your own city. Instead of traveling out of town, a Missions Group will gather on a recurring basis to serve, pray over, or evangelize their own city.

Social Groups: Social groups build relationships around a shared activity such as sports, games, hiking, and other activities.

Study Groups: To help build their faith and understanding of God’s word, study groups discuss the weekend message, watch e-courses, or read through the Bible and other spiritual emphasis books, together.

  • Absolutely! It’s understandable to want to find people you feel comfortable opening up to and developing friendships with. That being said, if you’ve joined a Group and aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for you, don’t give up.

Keep in mind that there’s no such thing as a perfect Group because there are no perfect people.

Remember to have grace and patience during the process. If it’s clear that this group isn’t the best fit for you, though, give another group a try.

  • This might be a sign that God is calling you to start a group! If God’s placed a certain passion or calling within you, He might want you to take a step of faith and launch a Group around it. You won’t have to do this alone, though. Your Groups/Ministries team is here to support you every step of the way.

  • All group leaders must complete the Group Leader E-Course. This course can be watched online here or in the Christ Alive Mobile App
